Squirter of Banana

Causal organism:Nigrospora sphaerica

This pathogen penetrates through broken stem ends and converts the inner pulp into a dark watery fluid. When a badly infected banana is squeezed, the contents are ejected and hence the name, squirter which is common on singles.
