Climate and soil requirements

  • Basella grows well in warm and moist climate. But it cannot tolerate extremes of temperature (optimum temperature is 25-320C). It can be grown successfully under partial shade.
  • It can be grown under wide range of soil right from sandy soil to clayey soils. Sandy loam with sufficient organic matter will be the best suited.
