Breeding achievements in cashew

Earlier cashew was primarily propagated for soil conservation and forestation. At present due to the effort of research 40 varieties have been released.
Of these 25 varieties are from selection in the germplasm and 15 varieties are developed by the breeding technique of hybridization and selection.
