During brainstorming, alternatives must be weighed in relation to the concepts, resources and goals of the center. The timeliness of alternatives may be a considered. For example, in times of

1. economic prosperity- expansion alternatives may be considered for example increasing number of staff members.
2. economic downturn - cutting back alternatives may be taken like retrenching (staff members).
