Visits to different day care centers, creche and play homes will help students to gain knowledge about existing stimulation activities, materials available, physical facilities, staffing pattern, services, care giver competencies in providing stimulation activities and other aspects related to programme. The students will have understanding of different types of day care centers and their structure and functions in meeting the needs of infants, parents and community in large.
Aim: To understand the structure and functioning of a child care center in terms of stimulating children.
Objectives:
To know the stimulation activities and services offered by the centre
To understand the stimulation practices followed by the care taker
To aware of different stimulation materials existing in the centre
To develop a skill of observing and recording the stimulation programme offered by the centre.
