Role of Government & Linkages

The government needs to reduce the octroi on papads to allow the manufacturers to market in nearby towns.

Market expansion –The units can try to expand the market to newer areas. The papads based on tastes of the people can be introduced, so new product developemtnt must be done.

Encouraging sales: Since papad is an adjunct in Indian diet, collaborating with other food processing industries to sell the products as a package could be helpful.

Linkages with large agro processing units:

Contacts with farmers to procure raw materials in bulk can be helpful and there is a greater chance of success of papad industries.
