Nervous Tissue and Functions

Nervous tissue is also a specialized tissue present in nervous system i.e. brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves. Basic cells of nervous system are neurons. Apart from neurons, nervous tissue also includes neuroglia cells (CT cells of nervous system). Basic function of nervous tissue is to generate, store and transmit nervous signals which ultimately regulates functions of all other body organs.
Detailed structure and functions of nervous tissue are explained in separate chapter
