Lesson 19 : Sales Promotion Techniques

Radio

Because viewers can see the fashion, television has an advantage over radio for apparel advertising. However, radio can make the listener aware of a store location, brand name, or timing of a particular sale. Peak radio listening hours, which cost more than other periods, are during drive time, the rush hours when commuters listen most to their car radios. Stations are selected for their target market appeal. Buyers might choose a rock station to reach teenagers versus an oldies, classical music, talk or news format station for baby boomers.
