Lesson 08: Video Formats

Summary

A video format has two different types: the container and the codec used inside that container. The container describes the structure of the file: where the various pieces are stored, how they are interleaved, and which codec's are used by which pieces. It may specify an audio codec as well as video. There are variety of video tape formats and file formats. We need to use them based on the context and purpose of the programme.
