Lesson 10: Video Production Process and Studio Procedures

Production

In the production phase everything we have prepared for must be executed in a coordinated manner.
Productions can be either recorded for later transmission or they can be transmitted live. News, sports remotes, and some special events are generally transmitted live. In live transmission, the panel producer on production control selects visuals spontaneously for transmission from a variety of sources such as the cameras, computer graphics, recorded footage, and the images are sent through a vision mixer with the required effects, supers, titles and credits.

A large number of other programmes such as talk shows are also recorded in the studios for transmission later. Recorded programmes give the producer/director the opportunity to make changes and improve the programmes before transmission.
