3-D Modeling tools

Realism means depicting things in the way they actually are. With the help of 3-D modeling and animation tools the objects that appear in perception in multimedia project can look realistic. It has become conventional to use 3-D modeling in multimedia design. These tools offer features like multiple windows to view the design in each dimension. They have drag and drop menus from where you can drop shapes into your design and combine them to create complex designs. Each rendered 3D image takes from a few seconds to few hours to complete, depending upon the complexity of the drawing and the number of drawn objects included in it. A good 3D modeling tool should include the following features.

  • Ability to drag and drop primitive shapes into a scene.
  • Lathe and extrude features.
  • Colour and texture mapping.
  • Ability to create and sculpt organic objects from scratch with Bezier spline drawing tools.
  • Unlimited cameras with focal length.
3D Studio Max is a tool for making 3D models and designs that can be converted into 3-dimensional animations. One can create animated symbols. In fact many of such symbols in website are made by using this tool. One can virtually lead one’s imagination to go wild and visualize any symbol easily with the help of this tool. It has applications in creating web pages; designing advertisements; making cartoon films and in creating multimedia based training programmes. One can give special effects to the design especially in terms of sound and animation.
