Lesson 5:Anthropometrics for People With Special Needs
Reach Ranges
The work environment and work tasks should be adapted to make work possible to persons with permanent physical disabilities. A physical disability complicates the journey to and from work and the physical demands at work. The integration of the disabled into the able bodied population, being more widely propagated, requires shaping common life and work environment for these populations, making allowances for the psycho-physical limitations of the physically challenged. For this purpose, it is necessary to determine anthropometric characteristics of the disabled with various disabilities. The disabled with motor organs dysfunction differ most in their somatic structure from the able bodied.
