Lecture - 8: RADISH |
AIM: Radish is a very popular root crop throughout India. It is grown for its fleshy edible roots which are eaten raw as salad and cooked as vegetable. Radishes are very useful as inter-crops or companion plantings between rows or plants of slower growth. Even the fruits and tops of radish which are rich in minerals and vitamins are also cooked as vegetable. The present chapter will make the students familiar with its importance, production technology, seed production practices and plant protection measures. |
