Motivation

Motivation is the general term that can be applied to the entire class of drives, desires, need, wishes and other similar forces. Management comes into effect while facing all the above mentioned forces and in the use of resources towards attainment of goals. Motivation plays an important role in management.

Management is universal and practices every organisation of people including a family. Management requires the creation and maintenance of an environment for the performance of individuals working together in groups towards the accomplishment of common goals. This environment is nothing but the motivating factor which makes people to work together. In managing home the home maker is concerned with her family members.

The basic element of human behaviour is some kind of activity whether physical or mental. The needs and wants are the under lying factors for any activity performed by the human being.
