Purpose of force moulting (Flock recycling)

PURPOSE OF FORCE MOULTNG (FLOCK RECYCLING)
  • To minimize the cost to bring the flock into production
  • To increase the length of egg production
  • When the current egg prices are low with anticipation of higher egg prices after the flock returns to production
  • Lack of available cash to maintain the flock
  • Availability of empty laying houses
