    • A set of beliefs regarding the ultimate power in the universe.
    • A set of beliefs regarding the ideal and proper pattern of behaviour.
    • A set of ceremonial way of expressing these beliefs.
  • A further function of religion is to provide a means where by man can face the crises and unpredictable changes of fortunes of life with strength and courage.
  • Secondary institutions of religion - forms of worship and organised groups for propagating religion.
