RECEPTOR ANTAGONISTS

  • Nalaxone or naltrexone or nalmefene: This drug rapidly reverses the effects of most opiates.
  • Flumazenil: This drug rapidly reverses effects of benzodiazipines.
  • Oxygen: Oxygen competes with carbon monoxide for binding to haemoglobin. Carbon monoxide has a higher affinity for haemoglobin, but can be displaced by oxygen and more rapidly by higher concentrations.
