DIAGNOSIS - vaginal examination

VAGINAL EXAMINATION

Position

• In pre cervical uterine torsion the vaginal twist is absent and the cervix is palpable
• In post cervical uterine torsion the vaginal walls are spirally twisted and stenosis of the vagina is present and cervix is not palpable

Direction

• Starting from the dorsum of the vagina if the folds spiral in counter clockwise direction it is left side torsion.
• If the fold spiral in a clockwise it is right side torsion.
