  • Activities allied to agriculture viz. animal husbandry, fisheries and forestry have the potential for providing significant employment opportunities to rural and urban population.
  • Allied activities provide supplementary occupation to the people besides contributing to Gross State Domestic Product.
  • Dependence on the agricultural sector for supporting livelihood is well known while the allied sectors offer scope for absorbing surplus labour from the agricultural sector.
  • The allied sector has the potential for putting the State's rural economy on a higher growth trajectory.
