Microscopy : Principle, use and care of Microscope

A simple microscope is little more than a biconvex lens. A compound microscope is an instrument consists of an optical system and an illumination system. The optical system aids in magnification while the illumination system makes the specimen properly visible. The compound microscope contains three sets of lenses.

1.    the eyepiece or ocular lens

2.    the objective lens

3.    the condenser
