Ranging rods
Ranging rods have a length of 2 or 3 m. It is made up of well seasoned wood or steel conduit. Ranging rods are having circular or octagonal shape with 3 cm cross section. They are shod at the bottom with a heavy iron point. The ranging rods are painted alternatively with two colours (Black and White or Red and White). Ranging rods are used to range some intermediate points in the survey line. These rods are can also be used for rough measurement of short length.

Arrows:
An arrow is made up of steel wire. It is inserted into the ground after every chain length measured on the ground. It consists of 50 mm loop at top and 400 mm length.
