Pests and diseases

Glory lily has few pests and diseases. However, diseases pose a serious threat when they get favourable conditions, causing severe damage. Hence great care has to be taken to control them. Pests Lily caterpillar, Green caterpillar: Controlled by spraying quinalphos @ 1000ml/ha Diseases Leaf blight: This disease is caused by the fungus Curvularia lunata. The disease can be controlled by spraying 0.2% mancozeb. Tuber rot or Basal stem rotting and wilting: Controlled by drenching the soil with carbendazim (0.2 %) or Psuedomonas fluorescens @ 0.5% |
