Lesson 38 : Prevention Of Intestinal Viral Infections

Introduction

As the name indicates, intestinal infections affect the gastrointestinal tract, often causing diarrhea. Gastroenteritis, an inflammation of the stomach and intestines, frequently accompanies such infections. Viruses, bacteria, parasites, or other pathogens can cause infections in the stomach and small and large intestines leading to gastroenteritis.

Viral Infections: Viral infections includes Poliomyelitis, gastroenteritis

Bacterial Infections: Cholera, Typhoid and Paratyphoid

Parasitic Infections: Amoebiasis, Ascariasis.
