Conjugated Proteins

Proteins are united to some other molecule other than salt.

  1. Nucleoproteins: Compounds of proteins with nucleic acid.

  2. Glycoproteins: Protein molecule combined with a carbohydrate group.
    Ex: Mucins.

  3. Phosphoproteins: Protein molecule is in combination with element
    Ex: Caseinogen (milk), ovovitelin (Egg yolk).

  4. Haemoglobins: Protein molecule is combined with haem (Iron).
    Ex: Haemoglobin of blood.

  5. Lecithoproteins: Protein molecule combined with lecithin or related substances.
