Alterations in Nutritional Requirements

Due to the hyper metabolic and hyper catabolic state, there is an increased usage of nutrients. Not only do nutrient losses occur through urine and skin but nutrient requirements are also increased. So, the goal of treatment would be to provide aggressive nutrition support for promoting wound healing, reducing infection, preserving body stores and replacing protein losses.
