Lesson 16 : Staffing the Center

Introduction

People are the human resources who play an important role in meeting the objectives of a child care center. It is the responsibility of the entrepreneur to equip the centre with qualified staff. Staffing is the process of recruiting and dealing with human resources required to perform the needed services of the center.

The tools used in planning and procedures used for recruiting child care center staff includes written personnel politics and Job descriptions. An analysis of centers purpose and manner of operating determines broad policy areas to be covered in the personnel politics: The director is responsible for designing personnel politics. The policy should serve the purposes like safeguarding the interests of all people covered.
