Module-9 & 10: Planning, Implementing and Evaluation of Stimulation Programme
for Infants (13-18 months)

Finger board

Materials required: Old News paper, Methi Seeds, Card Board, Scissors.

Procedure:

  1. Tear old newspapers into tiny bits and soak them with methi seeds overnight.
  2. Next day grind the newspapers adding turmeric powder. Cut a square piece of cardboard approximately 20cm X 20 cm
  3. Put the paper mache on the cardboard and spread evenly.
  4. With the index finger, dig holes of five in each row both vertically and horizontally.
  5. Take care should be taken to see that the noses are equidistant. Allow it to dry and then paint it.


Uses: It helps in improving fine motor skills and eye hand coordination

Variations:

  • This can be painted to make it attractive for visual stimulation.
  • Similar hats can be made with waste paper and painted in bright colours.
