Assessment of personality depends on the way it is measured. Different types of measurement are needed for different ways in which personality is measured.
All these measurement/assessment tools must have two basic characteristics for them to be accurate tools of personality assessment.
Reliability – The consistency with which a test measures what it measures is known as reliability. A person taking the test repeatedly must receive approximately same score every time.
Validity- a test measures what it is intended to measure and the test results can used to predict behaviors.
