Types Of Masonry

Depending upon the units bonded together the masonry is divided as.

  1. Brick Masonry.
  2. Stone Masonry.
  3. Pre-cast solid concrete block Masonry.
  4. Precast hallow concrete block Masonry.
  5. Solid wall tile Masonry.
  6. Composite Masonry.

The type of masonry adopted for various building components differ. Usually stone, solid concrete block or brick masonry is used for load bearing walls and plinth walls. Brick masonry is used for upper floor walls. Brick thin solid concrete, block masonry is used for non-load bearing internal walls. Brick hollow concrete and blocks masonry is used for parapet walls.
