Creating Interior Environments for Special Needs - Special Considerations

Individuals with special housing needs require varying degrees of program or service support, either on-site or through outreach programs, to enable them to live relatively independently or within a supportive environment. Several governments are developing definitions for special needs housing, identifying and studying special needs groups, setting policies, or designing strategies in their attempts to further their understanding of the housing and infrastructure requirements of individuals with special needs. In addition, the unique roles of hotel accommodation and adaptive housing are topics of concern for those planning for individuals with special needs.
