Needs of People With Special Needs

These are in essence not different from normal people but are related to any design that fulfils function, and addresses all the following human needs:

Physical needs: - health, safety, shelter, water, cleanliness, etc.

Psychological needs: - security, identity, a sense of belonging, a sense of individuals being able to affect their own destinies

Social needs: - opportunities for interaction and social ties

Sensory needs: - exposure to stimulatory, learning environments.

The above needs should be addressed by all sectors of the community, people with mobility, visual, mental, psychological or hearing impairments .
