form part of luggage, jackets, shoes, handbags and upholstered furniture. Metal attachments and anccessories are to be treated according to the particular finish and the type of metal. The leather surface should be dusted with a clean duster. If dirt is allowed to settle on leather surface, it tends to erode and damage it. A very highly soiled leather marticle can be cleaned by wiping the same with a duster wrung out in warm water containing mild soap or vinegar. All traces of soap must be removed and the surface dried fully. Linseed oil can be applied with an old rag to keep dark coloured leather surfaces in soft condition. Commercially available colourless creams can be used on light-coloured and white leather. Shoes can be protected by polishing them with a suitable shoe cream or a stained polish.
