  • Ergonomics is the study of the relationship between work, worker and work environment. Its name comes from the Greek word ergon which means “work” and nomos which means
  • Ergonomics is concerned with the design of space in which people carry out work. It establishes relation of man to the environment in which he works and the application of anatomical, physiological, psychological, and engineering knowledge to the problems involved.
  • Ergonomics is concerned with the ‘fit’ between people and their work. It takes account of the worker's capabilities and limitations in seeking to ensure that tasks, equipment, information and the environment suit each worker.
  • Ergonomics is the science of designing the job, equipment, and workplace to fit the worker. Proper ergonomic design is necessary to prevent repetitive strain injuries, which can develop over time and can lead to long-term disability.
  • Ergonomics is used in all fields of designing. One of the aspects where ergonomics finds an importance place is designing life space for family living.
