Category of Clothing for Women’s Wear

- Casual Wear – It refers to a style of dressing that is worn on an everyday basis for routine circumstances. It includes denims, tee shirts, shirts, skirts, tops, etc. The fabrics are usually readily available and the garments do not have too many embellishments.
- Evening Wear – It is refers to a high formal wear of dressing. The evening wear comprises of heavy ornate fabrics and elaborately done garments. These garments usually are heavily embellished as well. This category includes gowns and dresses.
- Night wear – It refers to the kind of clothing that one sleeps in. Comfort is the most important thing that is considered while making these garments. The fabrics used are also of a soft handle. They have easy closures and soft trims. The colors usually tend toward a pastel palette.
- Corporate Clothing - It is also known as formal wear. It is usually worn to work places so the prime importance is hassle free maintenance. Some fabrics with finishes like wrinkle-free have been introduced for this reason. It usually comprises of the suit either with skirt or a trouser and formal shirts. Embellishment and prints are almost absent and the fabrics are solid, checked or striped. The colors are also subtle.
- Bridal Wear – Only special occasions call for this kind of a dressing. Wedding or some significant social gatherings demand this kind of a dress code. It is usually ethnic with a lot of Indian color stories and rich embellishments. The silhouettes are also ethnic like lehengas and cholis, saris, salwar suits, etc.
- Tailored clothing – This category refers to custom fit clothing. They are usually made for a specific consumer according to his/her requirements. Usually, blazers, vests, suits, fitted dresses; elaborate gowns, etc. are tailored for individual consumers.
- Indian Ethnic Wear – It refers to the traditional Indian outfits. This includes Salwar kameez, saris, kurta pajamas, lehenga choli, etc. Each state has its own traditional wear. Even the sari is draped differently in different parts of the country.
- Swim Wear – It is usually an activity driven outfit which is used for swimming. But there are other versions of it which include bikinis, sarongs, caftans, etc which can be worn to a pool party or to the beach.
- Lingerie – It refers to the inner clothing which includes underwear, brassiere, corsets, garter belts, etc. It is the first layer or the foundation layer of clothing. To achieve the correct silhouette it is really important to wear the correct under clothes.
- Accessories – It can refer to anything that is worn along with an outfit to accentuate it. It includes shoes, bags, scarves, sunglasses, hair bands, corsages, earrings, necklaces, beads, brooches, etc.
- Active Wear – It is a category of clothes usually used for specific activities, usually sports. For example, sky diving, scuba diving, rappelling, mountain climbing, etc. They are usually made up of really strong fabrics which can sustain the wear and tear of the activity. They are usually nylon based with a percentage of lycra which ensures a comfort fit.
- Outer Wear – As the name suggests, it refers to what you wear outside – which means on your outfit like jackets, parkas, stoles, etc. They are mostly worn in cold temperatures when layering is required to keep the body warm.
