Technical face or right side of the fabric

Technical face refers to the right side of the knitted fabric. This may not be the side used as the right side in a garment. Technical in this sense means the machine back and front of the fabric.

• Has a better finish with finer yarns on the face
• If two kinds of yarns or fibers are used, the more expensive one is used in the face
• Twill lines usually run to the right when present
• If floats are present, the least snuggable ones are on the face
• If the two sides differ, the design is the face and solid colour is the back
