Lesson 18: Knitting and its types

Introduction

Knitting is the second method of fabric construction done with the interlooping of yarn. The unique ability of knitting is that it is possible to manufacture shaped and form-fitting articles into a wide range of apparel, domestic and industrial end-uses. A knitted fabric may be made with a single yarn which is formed into interlocking loops with the help of hooked needles. According to the purpose of the fabric, the loops may be made constructed loosely or closely.
