Lesson 10 : Preparing Slides for Presentation Using Ppt

Views

  • Click on View main menu option. All the types of views can be seen in the view menu.
  • Click on the Outline command

Moving Slides

  • Click on the 'Collapse All' button to collapse all text in the outline except the slide titles. This makes it easier to move the slides.
  • Select slide-4. 'Favorite Subject'.
  • Click on the 'Expand All' button to return all the text to the outline.

The procedure for moving the slides in the Slide Sorter view is as follows:

  • Click on the Slide Sorter View button; that is located at the bottom of the screen. Below each slide, the slide number appears.
  • Click on slide 6. We are going to move the slide.
  • Click and drag the mouse pointer to the left of slide 4. The pointer converts into slide icon.

Deleting Slides

  • Click on the Slide view button that IS located at the bottom of the screen.
  • Go to Slide 4 of your presentation
  • Click on the Edit main menu option
  • Click the Delete Slide command to delete the current slide.
  • Click on the Edit main menu option
  • Click on Undo command to undelete the slide.
  • Save the file mypres 1.ppt

Slide Show

  • Click on the Slide Show button at the bottom of your slide to begin the slide show. You can also click on View main menu option and select Slide Show from the menu.
  • 0ne slide is displayed at a time. Each slide fills the entire screen.
  • Click on the left mouse button or press Enter, or press Enter or press Page Down to move one slide forward.
  • When you reach the last slide in your presentation, PowerPoint brings you back to the Slide view, or any other view that you were in.
  • Click on File menu option
  • Click on the Close Command, to close the presentation
  • Click on the File main menu option.
  • Click on the Exit command to exit from PowerPoint.

Inserting Objects

  • Click on Insert main menu option
  • Click on ‘Picture ‘ option
  • Click on the Clip Art command In the Insert menu.
  • Click on the All Categories option. The Clip art galleries will displays all the images. Scroll down in the clip art list box until you find a picture of a computer.
  • Click on the picture (You may not necessarily select the same picture).
  • Click on the 'Insert' button to add the image to your slide.

Printing
You have seen your presentation on the screen. Now we shall see how to print it. PowerPoint has four views and you can have a printed copy for any of these views. You have to choose the printer available. Even if the printer is not attached to your computer, you can go through these steps to follows the procedure for printing a range of slides.

  • Click on File main menu option
  • Click on the Print command in the file menu.
  • Click on the 'OK' button to print your presentation.
  • You can print only some selected slides by selecting 'Slides' button and specifying the slide number.
  • You can also print the current slide by selecting the 'Current Slide' button.
