Planning advertising brouchers and folders

Distribution of brochures and folders serves the informative purpose as well as credibility of the firm. By looking at the outward getup of these, people frame goodwill towards the firm in their minds. The following are the certain tips in designing them.

  • Determine the type of brochure and folder

There are five basic brochure types:

    1. Leave-behind brochures,
    2. Point-of-sale brochures
    3. Inquiry response brochures
    4. Direct mail brochures
    5. Sales support brochures

A leave-behind brochure and an inquiry response brochure are designed to follow-up with clients or prospects. The other three are designed to find new prospects.

Folders are usually of single, double and occasionally multiple folded. The selection of folder depends on the type and length of the messages.

  • Choose the size
Brochures can range from one page to a multi-page brochure. Chose the size based on how much information you need to include promoting the idea, product or service in the brochure.
  • Focus on the idea
A well-designed brochure will catch attention and encourage the reader to turn the page. To do this one need to focus on the item that is getting advertised. Keep the focus on the idea by answering commonly asked questions and presenting technical information.
  • Select the brochure cover
Come up with a catchy headline and a visual aid that will clearly illustrate the idea that wanted to be promoted. Design the cover to make people curious about what is in the rest of the brochure.
  • Organize content
The content of the brochure depends on the type of advertising brochure that is chosen. Keep the content interesting by placing visual aids with captions throughout the text.
  • Include contact information
A well-designed brochure creates urgency for the reader to contact the respective source. Place the contact information in a noticeable place to ensure that the reader can find it easily. Also be sure the information is in a font and size that can be read easily.
