General constraints

In general the following are the constraints commonly encountered in any development programme,

  1. Lack of commitment by any or all i.e the participants, extension workers and organization, lead to the failure of a programme.
  2. Lack of meaningful objectives and goals, make the programme in effective and in-actionable.
  3. Failure to develop and implement strategies, results in astray of objectives and action plan.
  4. Lack of rationality in the programme, leads planning of unreasonable steps or leaving crucial steps.
  5. Excessive reliance on experience , by pass the current scientific information
  6. Failure to identify the limiting factors, may lead to adversity
  7. Lack of organizational support, weakens the extension agent in decision making process
  8. Resistance to change, on the part of the target group
