Situation Environment Appraisal: The purpose of this function is to understand the current situation. The trainer can use PRA tools, Interviews, Group discussions, Impact reports, Professional and Personal performance appraisal to understand the existing environment of the trainee in which he/she is functioning.
Accomplishment Gap Analysis: To identify the gap between what is and what ought to be, the trainer should compile the data collected through above methods and means and analyze the same.
Training Need Analysis: Diagnosis of knowledge, skill and attitude domains that are to be changed to fill the gap is to be done. The trainer can make Domain-Inquisition matrix. Ex: The Anganwadi workers should monitor the growth of children in their area with the participation of mothers.
