(c) Carotenoid based fish feeds
Spirulina is blue green algae. It is a simple one celled form of algae that thrives in warm, alkaline, fresh water bodies. Most notably Spirulina is 65-70% complete protein, with all essential amino acids in perfect balance. Spirulina provides high concentration of many other nutrients such as amino acids, chelated minerals pigmentations, rhamnose sugars (complex natural plant sugars), trace elements, enzymes – that are in an easily assimilable form. Spirulina is known to promote more uniform growth rate and improves the intestinal flora in the fish , there by promoting better absorption of the nutrients and more resistant to infection. They are also known to stimulate the production of enzymes that transports fats with in the fish body. The Spirulina possess caretinoid pigments that improve and intensify coloration in the fish.
