Protection of permanent wooden structures

The common method of protection for piles in sea water with shipworms and moderate Limnoria hazard is the treatment with coal-tar creosote or creosote coal-tar solution. Where severe Limnoria hazard exists, dual treatment (copperarsenate-containing waterborne preservatives followed by coal-tar creosote) is recommended
