2.1.1 Definition
Ecosystem is defined as self-sustaining network of biotic and abiotic elements that interact to sustain life. Ecosystem is the community plus the abiotic factors (Caughley & Sinclair, 1994). Ecosystem is the basic unit of study in ecology (Brewer, 1988).
