Suggestions to Make an Effective Farm and Home Visit

1. Try to develop sound and favourable relations.
2. Identify the topic of interest of the farmer.
3. In order to start discussion, begin the conversation with a question put in such a way that it cannot be answered by merely saying Yes or No.
4. The extension worker should know everything about the subject on which efforts are made. Be accurate and correct in his statement.
5. Allow the farmers to talk more on his problem and don’t interrupt in the middle.
6. Use simple language of the farmers and common terms with cheerful nature. And avoid argument.
7. Take some printed matter to be given to the individual.
8. Immediately after the visit, record the date, purpose of the visit and problems noted for follow-up action. Keep the promises by proper follow-up.
