E-mail

  1. E-mail is short form of electronic mail, which ids based on the use of computers for the transmission of message rather than the postal system.
  2. The E-mail system connects a network of personal computers (PC) spread over the globe.
  3. A PC is set up as a message server system.
  4. The users at the other PCs can link up with the server at any time to receive and transmits messages.
  5. Such user to the E-mail system is allocated a look number or address in the E-mail directory.
  6. To send a message, a user has to “Key-in” the massages in his PC along with the directory numbers allotted to him and receiver of the message.
  7. The sender can indicate the time limit for its retention and he can make it confidential.
  8. The receiver on receiving the message is his/her computer terminal can get it printed on paper.
