4.7.1 Social barriers

In most of the cases, the fishing community is found to be traditional. Hence, they resist changes. Traditional nature, poor levels of education, poor knowledge on innovations, prevalence of traditional leaders, poor levels of contacts with members outside their peer group/community are some of the social barriers.
