Protein supplements can be obtained from animal origin or plant origin.

  • Animal origin has mostly over 47% protein, 1.0% calcium, 1.5% phosphorus, and fewer than 2.5% fibre while plant origin has mostly less than 47% protein, 1.0% calcium, 1.5% phosphorus and over 2.5% fibre.
  • Other sources from which protein supplements can be obtained include NPN compounds, single cell protein etc.
