  • Livestock producers generally have three main options for meeting the nutrient requirements of animals during drought or fodder scarcity periods.
    •  Use of agro-industrial byproducts and unconventional feeds to ensure that the animals have adequate energy, protein, vitamins, and minerals.
    • Reduce the nutrient requirements of the animal to a point where the requirements can be met with available feeds.
    • Reductions in stocking rate.
