CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM

  • The CNS comprise the brain and the spinal cord.
  • The brain consists of structures situated intra cranially and includes cerebrum, mid brain, pons, medulla, and cerebellum.

Central nervous system

  • Brain is divided into distinct regions,
    • The fore brain [prosencephalon] which is subdivide into telencephalon [two cerebral  hemisphere] and diencephalon or inter brain [consists epithalamus, thalamus, subthalamus and hypothalamus, posterior pituitary and pineal glands]
    • The mid brain or mesencephalon
    • Hind brain or rhombencephalon comprising pons, medulla, and cerebellum.
