ESTIMATION OF VFA-BARNETT AND REID METHOD
  • Volatile Fatty Acids are collected in distilled water with the help of distillation apparatus and titrated against standard alkali.

Materials

  • Distillation apparatus
  • Heating apparatus
  • Scarisbrick buffer (10% Potassium oxalate and 5% oxalic acid)
  • 0.01N NaOH
  • Phenolphthalein
  • Distilled water
  • 250 ml conical flask
